SD Utilization

SD Utilization enables Node Operators to use SD from the SD Utility Pool for running ETHx validators. Node operators can obtain the necessary SD to set up an ETHx validator from the SD Utility Pool for a nominal utilization fee and operate an ETHx node with ETH-only exposure.

Important note

A Utilization Fee of 6% will be applied to the utilized SD from the Utility Pool. Learn more about SD Utility Pool here before proceeding with the deposit: Click Here

SD deposit

  • You will be prompted with a minimum and maximum amount of SD that can be utilized for your validator, based on the number of validators you are trying to add, your existing Utilization Position, and the amount of free SD in the Utility Pool.

  • You can enter the amount of SD you wish to utilize within the provided range. Once the amount is entered, provide the required gas fee and confirmation, and that's it! The validator will be created and added to your node.

What next?

  • Stader will first deposit 1 ETH and wait for the deposit to be successful. Only 1 ETH is deposited first instead of 4 ETH to avoid front-running of the withdraw credentials. It take 16-24 hours for the 1 ETH to be successfully deposited on the beacon chain

  • Once the 1 ETH deposit is successful we will wait for the pre-sign message to be received. This can take a maximum of 24 hours.

  • Once the pre-sign message is received and verified we will deposit the remaining 31 ETH bond for your validator to become active on the beacon chain. After this, your validator will be in the activation queue on the Beacon chain. Activation time on the beacon chain depends on the the size of the activation queue.

  • Please note that your validators will receive the remaining 28 ETH based on their position in the validator queue and the amount of ETH currently available in the Stader deposit pool.
