What does 'unstaking' mean? ​

Unstaking refers to the process of initiating the withdrawal of your staked assets. When you unstake BNBx, you begin the process of converting your BNBx tokens back to BNB. Once the unstaking process is complete, you can claim your BNB from the Withdraw tab by clicking on the "Withdraw" button.

What is the procedure to 'approve unstaking'?​

Initiating 'unstake approval' is your first step towards unstaking your BNBx tokens. This procedure involves providing confirmation through your wallet, thereby giving Stader Protocol the necessary permissions to handle the BNBx tokens you're looking to exchange for the equivalent staked BNB based on the exchange rate. It's crucial to understand that, in this step, no updates are made to your BNBx holdings. The Stader protocol simply gains the necessary permissions to interact with your tokens for the unstaking process. Rest assured, there's no inherent risk associated with this step.

Do I still accrue rewards during the unstaking period?​

No, during the unstaking process, your BNBx tokens no longer earn staking rewards. The reward accumulation ceases when the unstaking procedure is initiated.

How do I calculate the amount I'll receive when unstaking? ​

The value you receive when unstaking is determined by the exchange rate either at the unstake time or the finalization time, whichever is the minimum. For instance, if the exchange rate stands at 1.05, you'll receive 1.05 BNB for every BNBx you unstake.

What is the 'unstaking period'? ​

The 'unstaking period' refers to the duration required to convert your MaticX back into BNB. Unstake requests are typically processed within 7–15 days.

Why is the Unstaking period 7-15 days?​

As per the BNB Chain, after you send an unstaking request, you have to wait 7 days before your BNB is unstaked and ready for withdrawal. This period starts at UTC 00:00 next day. Also, the network allows only a single unstaking request per address from a validator every 7 days. So to optimize the wait time, Stader collects all unstaking requests accumulated over a week and sends them once every week. Hence the maximum time you would have to wait would be 15 days (including 7 days of unbonding period).

What should I do after requesting to unstake? ​

After initiating an unstake request, your next step is to wait for the unstaking period to conclude. Once completed, you'll be able to claim your unstaked BNB in the Withdraw tab by clicking on the "Withdraw" button.
