# Polygon (Discontinued)

### Important update for MaticX users

Stader DAO is sunsetting MaticX, our liquid staking token on Polygon Chain, as part of a broader effort to focus resources on ecosystems where our impact and growth potential are already proven.\
\
Effective immediately, MaticX has stopped accepting new deposits and is moving into a claims-only state, with users able to redeem their MATIC through the existing UI

### **Sunset Timeline** <a href="#sunset-timeline" id="sunset-timeline"></a>

13th June'26: Deposit disabled\
\
3rd August'26: MaticX dApp UI is diabled. Withdrawals will be available through contracts until 3rd August 2029

### Withdrawal guide

### Step 0: Is your MaticX on Polygon or Ethereum?

MaticX exists on both chains at different, non-interchangeable addresses. <br>

* Ethereum mainnet MaticX: [0xf03A7Eb46d01d9EcAA104558C732Cf82f6B6B645](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645)
* Polygon PoS MaticX: [0xfa68FB4628DFF1028CFEc22b4162FCcd0d45efb6](https://polygonscan.com/token/0xfa68fb4628dff1028cfec22b4162fccd0d45efb6)

Check which token address you hold<br>

* If you hold the Ethereum address above, continue to Option A.
* If you hold the Polygon address, you have two choices: (a) use the Polygon-side flow (Option B), or (b) move your MaticX from Polygon to Ethereum using the Polygon native bridge (<https://portal.polygon.technology/bridge>, the bridge linked in Stader's official announcement), then follow this guide. Bridging can take several hours; times vary.

### &#x20;Option A: Withdraw via Etherscan for withdrawals on Ethereum

Use this after the dApp UI is sunset. All steps happen on the MaticX token contract on Ethereum mainnet:

[0xf03A7Eb46d01d9EcAA104558C732Cf82f6B6B645](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645)

There is no separate withdrawal-manager contract on Ethereum. Approve, request, and claim all happen on this single address.<br>

1. Go to the contract on Etherscan: [https://etherscan.io/address/0xf03A7Eb46d01d9EcAA104558C732Cf82f6B6B645<br>](https://etherscan.io/address/0xf03A7Eb46d01d9EcAA104558C732Cf82f6B6B645)

2. Confirm it is correct: token name "Liquid Staking Matic", symbol "MaticX", Etherscan label "Stader Labs: MaticX Token".<br>

3. Check your balance.&#x20;
   1. Open the Contract tab,&#x20;
   2. Click on Read as Proxy&#x20;
   3. In the function [balanceOf](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645#readProxyContract#F4), add your wallet address and click Query
   4. Copy the amount shown<br>

      <img src="/files/eK1bWEUVWN7iX2t5Q9vJ" alt="" height="377" width="459">

      <br>

4. Now go to Write as Proxy tab and click on Connect Wallet. This should be the same wallet that holds MaticX<br>

   <img src="/files/z7Ro1QxczQF0ziZ1nVDj" alt="" height="139" width="624">

5. Go to [requestWithdraw](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645#writeProxyContract#F10) function and paste the amount copied in Step 3. Click on 'Write'\ <br>

   <img src="/files/RPmFUWio9MJaOtRXwOtm" alt="" height="203" width="624">

6. Wait about 4 days.<br>

7. Now, go to Write as Proxy and Connect Wallet, similar to Step 4. Then, in [claimWithdrawal](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645#writeProxyContract#F2), add the \_idx value as 0 and click Write. Confirm in wallet.

\
Do this for every withdrawal request you have put in. This sends POL to your wallet.&#x20;

### Option B: Withdraw via Polygonscan for withdrawals on Polygon

Use this after the dApp UI is sunset. You will have to interact with 2 contracts for the withdrawal process: <br>

1. PoS MaticX (child ERC-20): 0xfa68fb4628dff1028cfec22b4162fccd0d45efb6
2. PoS ChildPool (for withdrawal): 0xfd225C9e6601C9d38d8F98d8731BF59eFcF8C0E3

You will have to Approve the withdrawal, then Unstake MaticX and then claim POL.

1. Go to the contract on Polygonscan: \
   <https://polygonscan.com/address/0xfa68fb4628dff1028cfec22b4162fccd0d45efb6#readProxyContract#F9>&#x20;

2. Confirm it is correct: token name "Liquid Staking Matic", symbol "MaticX", Etherscan label "Stader Labs: MaticX Token".<br>

3. Check your balance.&#x20;
   1. Open the Contract tab,&#x20;
   2. Click on Read as Proxy&#x20;
   3. In the function [balanceOf](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645#readProxyContract#F4), add your wallet address and click Query
   4. Copy the amount shown\ <br>

      <figure><img src="/files/hEkmJUc1h5STR13M4LbL" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

<br>

4. Approve the amount of tokens you want to withdraw.
   1. spender (address): Use 0xfd225C9e6601C9d38d8F98d8731BF59eFcF8C0E3
   2. Amount: copied from previous step

<img src="/files/eMODGEUZTC2e24Y1VsvE" alt="" height="196" width="624">

5. Now go to PoS Childpool (<https://polygonscan.com/address/0xfd225C9e6601C9d38d8F98d8731BF59eFcF8C0E3#writeProxyContract#F7>) --> write as Proxy tab and click on Connect Wallet. \
   Use the same wallet that holds MaticX<br>

   <figure><img src="/files/QxPowjf7JSeVSjbJbAuS" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

6. Go to [requestMaticXSwap](https://polygonscan.com/address/0xfd225C9e6601C9d38d8F98d8731BF59eFcF8C0E3#writeProxyContract#F7) function and paste the amount copied in Step 3. Click on Write<br>

<figure><img src="/files/TN8u4oEkXKma7wH9vFtw" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

7. Wait about 4 days.<br>
8. Now, go to Write as Proxy and Connect Wallet, similar to Step 4. Then, in [claimMaticXSwap](https://etherscan.io/token/0xf03a7eb46d01d9ecaa104558c732cf82f6b6b645#writeProxyContract#F2), add the \_idx value as 0 and click Write. Confirm in Safepal wallet.\
   \
   Do this for every withdrawal request you have put in.\
   \
   This sends POL to your wallet. If you have multiple requests, try indexes in order. An unready or already-claimed index simply reverts, and only the gas for that failed attempt is spent. It does not lose your funds.
